Winter INdoor Discoveries (WIND)

Winter

During the months of January and February Youth Opportunities Unlimited offers the WIND program. Weekly workshops teach students fun, useful skills that cultivate confidence, empowerment and creativity. At the start of the program, youth are offered options and vote on the workshops that most interest them. Woodworking, candle making, tie dying, sea glass jewelry, and making essential oils are some examples of workshops that allow children to express their creativity while learning new skills. Each workshop is based intentionally on traditional cultural skills that are accessible to youth, touching upon the arts, culture, history, economics, nature, and sustainability.
